Lily's new crochet blanket

As Lily grows I'm finding all her crochet blankets are too small for her when she's in bed so I started a continuous granny square blanket for her.

This is mainly the yarn from Kmart in mint, lilac and grey marle. The blue one was just a random one from a cheap shop but I preferred the Kmart yarn. For now this blanket is a good size, but ultimately I plant to keep working on it until it is king size and hopefully she'll still use it as an adult.

I'm also working on a continuous one for our bed which is going to be lots of different blues so each time I finish a colour I can just go buy the next colour. For both blankets, I was planning to make each colour with the same amount of rows, but that got harder to work out as the blanket got bigger. Now I get one or two extra balls than I used in the last round and hope it looks good in the end!

Finally finished grey crochet blanket

When I was pregnant with Lily I finished this crochet blanket, which was actually my first crochet project that sat unfinished for many years. The next blanket was started because I found a beautiful silky yarn that ended up being rather annoying to crochet with. That one was finished before Lily was born and has stretched into this long, skinny blanket.

And then I started this plain grey chevron blanket while I was still pregnant and made it a little wider than the other blankets.

It's had a rough time, the cat knocked my soft drink onto it so I had to rinse that stickiness out. Then Lily kicked my pump and milk went all through my crochet bag so everything needed a proper wash mid project. Lily is now two and half and I've finally finished it - just in time for summer!

The newly started (and already sitting in the cupboard) crochet project is a granny square blanket for our king size bed, I wonder how many years that will take...

Another Crochet Blanket

I've been unwell lately so I decided I would finally do my youngest nephews crochet blanket. I did blankets for 3 of my other nieces/nephews in the multicolour yarn so picked this nice green and blue mix. It's amazing how fast this one was finished since I spent a lot of time watching netflix! His birthday isn't until September so I'm feeling super organised!

Chevron Crochet Blanket

Well I finally finished the first crochet blanket I started! This one I wanted as a throw for the couch but since it was a pattern for a baby blanket it is a bit small. Maybe it can just sit on the couch for looks rather than warmth.

Since I watch tv while I crochet there were a few times where I noticed that I'd done an extra row that I had to undo. And since I have around one ball of each colour left I decided to start a 'leftover' blanket where I do blocks of colour using up the last of each leftover ball. And I doubled the width so hopefully one day we'll have a blanket big enough for two adults! Since I only have three leftover balls I figure I can just buy a ball whenever I need it until the blanket is big enough.

Crochet Baby Blankets

Awhile ago I asked my mum to teach me how to crochet, while there are heaps of videos online that teach you how to do it, I just couldn't figure it out. So I started with a chevron blanket for our couch using three colours. Then for some reason I decided that I should make a blanket for my youngest nephews first birthday. I finished it just in time for his birthday party.

I really liked the yarn with different shades of blue, it made a cute blanket. I decided to use the same sort of yarn for my niece's first birthday present - this one was a very, very late birthday present!

I've decided that I don't like crochet, probably why it took me so long to finish that second baby blanket. Unfortunately I still have to finish the chevron one I started for our couch. Oh and I have another niece on the way so I'm trying to decide if I should do the same for her first birthday - if I do, then I need to make one for my 11 year old nephew... maybe I'll get one finished just in time for his 18th birthday!
